With the end of the indoor shooting season a few members have started to enter and shoot in outdoor competitions, the first of which was just up the road at our good friends Thirsk Bowmen (https://www.thirskbowmen.org.uk).

The weekend involved World Archery 720 rounds (72 arrows at various distances depending on bow type). Andy Knight shot Recurve on a slightly damp Saturday and came away with a personal best score. David Curry and Andy Monger shot Barebow on Sunday. Both made it to the quarter final however that was David’s exit point. Andy went on to shoot in the semi final followed by the bronze medal shoot off but sadly only came away with 4th place.

So the outdoor season has kicked off in earnest, if you’d like to dip your toe and try a competition please contact one of us and we will help. There is a list of upcoming nearby tournaments here http://www.yorkshirearchery.co.uk/upcoming.html
